About The Hummingbird
The Hummingbird is a platform for freethought in the 21st century.
It aims to illuminate the big questions of our time, whether they relate to culture, politics, or philosophy. Since society is polarized, the Left and Right are stuck in trench warfare. This publication does not join the battle.
Instead, it hovers above, observing the bigger picture.
The Hummingbird’s approach is not ideological, but philosophical.
The key difference is doubt. Extremists are characterized by a lack thereof. Free-thinkers, however, understand that true certainty is rare and admit to the limits of their knowledge.
To find the truth, you must first admit to uncertainty.
Present day, that demands the levity, agility, and playfulness of a hummingbird.
Levity prevents it from falling prey to dangers on the ground. Agility helps it adapt to ever-changing environments. And playfulness ensures it enjoys the journey.
These traits help it survive and thrive.
In other words, The Hummingbird maneuvers through Western society’s deepest problems and has fun doing it.
Whenever a subject is touchy, it is typically because a grim reality lurks in the shadows. It is always worth bringing that into the light. Sacred cows mustn’t block the arduous road to truth.
All is up for discussion.
If you share this ideal, you will enjoy this publication.
Left or Right: feel welcome to read and discuss. Your politics do not matter. What matters is if you believe in freedom and the pursuit of truth it enables.
Subscribing is completely free.
Articles by The Hummingbird are free to all subscribers. If a paid version is ever produced, it will be optional, not automatic.
